Dana was born and raised in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. She came to the United States for her Master of Laws degree in August 2022. As a Khmer and International Law student with a passion for civic engagement and community empowerment, she strongly believes that the transformative power of knowledge and language can uplift people in need and create positive change in society. At CMAA, she wishes to contribute her knowledge and experience to the organization’s mission of providing essential support to the Cambodian community. Her favorite activities are hiking and traveling where she can explore new landscapes and challenge her limits as well as feel the beauty of nature.

← Staff Chantha Thang & Language Teacher MassHealth Enrollment Counselor Department(s): Wrap-Around Community Services ​ E-Mail: cthang@cmaalowell.org Office Extension: (978) 454-6200 ​ Direct Line: n/a Chantha Thang joined the CMAA team on October 10, 2023 as the Khmer Language Teacher and MassHealth Enrollment Counselor. Chantha, originally from Siem Reap, holds bachelor's degrees in Religious Studies and Philosophy from Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University (Thailand) and Law from Royal University of Law and Economics (Cambodia). He pursued LL.M. in International Law at TLBU Graduate School of Law (Seoul) and recently graduated LL.M. from Temple University Beasley School of Law (U.S.). An ex-monk, he dedicated a year to teach English to underprivileged youth at the Advanced Center for Empowerment in Phnom Penh. Chantha is deeply passionate about community service and often volunteers at various events. Chantha will teach Khmer Classes to the kids in the After School Program on weekdays and to the Youths on Sunday mornings.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Development Manager to plan and execute events from inception to completion, ensuring each event is successful and impactful. This role involves extensive communication and coordination with vendors, sponsors, partners, and corporations. Major events include the Khmer New Year, Annual Meeting, Gala, Water Festival, Flag Raising, etc. Fluency in Khmer is preferred. Key Responsibilities Event Planning & Coordination: Plan, organize, and execute events, ensuring all details are managed effectively from start to finish. Vendor Management: Identify, negotiate, and coordinate with vendors to secure services and products for events. Sponsorship Outreach: Reach out to sponsors, partners, and corporations to secure sponsorships and partnerships for events. Detail Management: Handle all logistical details for major events, ensuring smooth operations and successful outcomes. Reporting: Collect and analyze data on event performance and provide comprehensive reports on event results to the Communications and Development Manager. Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for all event-related communications. Budget Management: Work within budget constraints to plan and execute events. Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to align event objectives and ensure cohesive execution. Flexibility: Be available for some nights and weekends as required for event execution and planning. Qualifications Fluency in Khmer is preferred. Proven experience in event planning and coordination. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills. Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
