We are thrilled to announce that CMAA has been selected as a recipient for the FY2024- FY2026 Residential Energy Assistance Grant (REAG) program offered by the Office of the Massachusetts Attorney General. < Back Residential Energy Assistance Grant Recipient (REAG Program) May 15, 2024 We are thrilled to announce that CMAA has been selected as a recipient for the FY2024- FY2026 Residential Energy Assistance Grant (REAG) program offered by the Office of the Massachusetts Attorney General. We are thrilled to announce that CMAA has been selected as a recipient for the FY2024- FY2026 Residential Energy Assistance Grant (REAG) program offered by the Office of the Massachusetts Attorney General. REAG will fund or supplement programs or initiatives designed to assist Massachusetts residents in paying or lowering their residential heating costs. The program is funded through settlement agreements the AGO reached with National Grid and the Berkshire Gas Company. Over the last year, Massachusetts residents have faced record high utility bills. Approximately 400,000 Massachusetts residential customers currently receive a low-income discount rate on their electric and gas bills. The REAG funds nonprofit organizations and municipalities in full compliance with all annual reporting requirements of both the AGO and the Internal Revenue Service. Programs that provide direct subsidies for heat assistance may award, in the aggregate, up to $1,000 for each eligible Massachusetts household per heating season. The REAG will not only provide additional funding to programs that aid Massachusetts families currently receiving heat assistance, but also expand assistance to more eligible households by directly subsidizing heating bills. PRESS RELEASE < Back Cambodian Mutual Assistance Association calls for peace in Cambodia Dec 20, 2025 PRESS RELEASE Cambodian Mutual Assistance Association Calls for Peace for Cambodia Lowell, Massachusetts December 20, 2025 The Cambodian Mutual Assistance Association of Lowell, Massachusetts, speaks today with deep concern and urgency as violence along the Cambodia Thailand border once again threatens Cambodian lives. CMAA is a community built by Cambodian survivors, refugees, and their children. We carry the memory of war in our families and in our bodies. We know what it means to flee, to lose home, and to rebuild from nothing. That is why we cannot stay silent when Cambodia is pushed toward conflict again. Cambodian authorities have reported civilian deaths in the current violence, and we mourn every life lost. Civilians must never be targets. Homes, schools, infrastructure, and temples must be protected, including Cambodia’s treasured heritage sites near the border. CMAA stands firmly with Cambodia. We believe Cambodia’s position that it does not seek war and that this escalation began with aggression from Thailand. Cambodia has shown restraint. Cambodia continues to choose peace. We call on Thailand to end its aggression immediately. Stop the violence and respect Cambodia’s sovereignty. Honor the ceasefire reached in Malaysia with international support, including the United States, and return to de-escalation and dialogue so families can live without fear. “Cambodia does not want war. Cambodia wants peace, and we call for an immediate end to the aggression so our people can live safely and with dignity,” said Sothea Chiemruom, Executive Director of CMAA. These monthly meetings are aimed at learning about our energy ambassador experience and answer their questions about the energy programs.
