“I appreciate that they have given their time so that I might learn.”

Brian Hunt is a University of Massachusetts Lowell (UMass Lowell) Senior studying Journalism and Professional Writing. He came to CMAA through Community Writing II, a service learning course in which students intern at a community organization as part of their education. “As an intern, I’ve interviewed staff and written staff profiles for the company website. I’ve also helped create some new website content and layouts working in WordPress, and I am in the middle of creating a brochure.”

Brian enjoys his experience as an intern and appreciates the opportunity to grow professionally, but also appreciates other aspects of the experience: “What I’ll remember most are some of the invaluable conversations with the staff. (They) have been very kind and earnest with me, and I appreciate that they’ve given their time so that I might learn.” CMAA values our community partnership with UMass Lowell and how it creates a means for students like Brian to gain both valuable experience and additional perspective, and we appreciate the work he has done for us. Please help to support our efforts to continue to provide opportunities for students like Brian in the future by considering a donation to our organization as part of your year-end giving.
