CMAA Stories: Borann Srey

“I appreciate the programs and services.”

Borann Srey has been attending CMAA’s English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes for more than two years, after learning from our partner Abisi Adult Education Center about the opportunity to improve her language skills at CMAA. “I am the instructor for children at the Glory Buddhist Temple, but they don’t speak Khmer, only English”, she said. “CMAA has really helped me to be able to teach in English.” Borann has nothing but praise for Martha and Kathy, her Abisi Adult Education ESOL teachers: “They are both excellent instructors!”

Borann also appreciates and learns from other programs at CMAA, like our summer Bar-B-Qs and educational workshops which provide information on Hepatitis B, financial literacy and other important topics to community members. “I appreciate the workshops and services, and I notice that it’s not just me: many people come to CMAA to get help and information”. Please help CMAA continue to expand our positive impact on the community by donating to our organization as part of your year-end giving.
